SENIOR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, PR/MEDIA RELATIONS

The Position

The PR Sr. Account Executive is primarily responsible for the internal and external account and project management for various clients with support from multi-disciplinary teams and senior levels of management. The candidate should have strong organizational skills in project management, a passion for storytelling and in-depth writing, a love for developing relationships, and at least one year of agency experience. Preferred experience with media databases and reporting tools (Meltwater, Muck Rack, or Cision). This senior account leader cultivates meaningful client relationships while leading and nurturing teams that drive agency revenue and profitability. They adapt in any situation and capitalize on opportunities that benefit their team and the organization. This leader knows the most productive environments come when expectations are clear, accountability is measured, and work is both challenging and fun.   • Serve as the primary point of contact on the client team, building, maintaining, and
    growing relationships between amazing clients and the agency
  • Support execution of PR/media relations projects to ensure on-time and on-
    budget delivery
  • Maintain all client and internal documentation following established processes,
    including timely reporting

The Work

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic counsel, industry insights, and proactive recommendations to achieve business objects
  • Execute PR and media relations strategic plans and projects
  • Build relationships with key trade and relevant media outlets to secure high-value media coverage on behalf of clients
  • Draft internal and client PR and media relations materials including press releases, pitches, bylines, blogs, content briefs, fact sheets, agendas, recaps, reports, newsletters, and award submissions
  • Stay current on industry and media trends and monitor placements providing regular reporting and analysis for clients
  • Project Management
    • Maintain the organization of all client documents, assets and deliverables 
    • Maintain project management system for assigned clients
      • Support the development of project timelines and track client deliverables and deadlines
  • Account Management 
    • Support team in day-to-day service of client accounts 
    • Actively contribute to team meetings and client calls/communications
    • Develop meeting agendas
    • Take meeting notes for client calls including: 
      • Recording and or transcription 
      • Create meeting recaps – summary, action items and next steps 
      • Draft client communications 
    • Support account, PR & Marketing lead in weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting 
    • Coordinate, schedule and manage logistics for client meetings 
    • Stay abreast of clients’ brand/marketing, products/services, competitors, market/industry trends

The Essentials

  • Experience
    • BA or BS in PR/Media Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum one-year experience at an agency 
  •  Skills
    • Understanding of how PR, communications, creative and media work together
    • Strong interpersonal, communications and presentation skills: verbal, written 
    • Superior organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
    • Willingness to speak up and ask questions
  •  Intangibles
